FUNDRAISING DEPOSITS and TOURNAMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising Deposits

Fundraising Fee Deposits do not apply to participants in our Learn-to-Skate programs or U7, OPEN levels - but WILL apply to all other GRA registrants.

To ensure that registration fees remain affordable to our families, the GRA participates in a mandatory fundraising program each season. This program involves selling raffle tickets to win a variety of attractive prizes - from cash to gift cards.  Early in the season, your team manager or Coach, will issue you a set of Raffle tickets.  These can be sold to recoup all, or a portion of the post-dated fundraising cheque ($150) that is part of the registration.  If you choose to sell all of your raffle tickets, then you will recoup this $150 fundraising fee.  Selling is totally optional.  It is just another opportunity to keep your costs down.

Here is how it works:

1] Each family provides a fundraising deposit at the time of their registration in the form of a cheque, post-dated December 1, 2019.

2] Fundraising deposit cheque is as follows: (U8 and above)

- U8 - $75

-1st player in family - $150

-2nd player in family - $100

-3 or more additional players per family - none for 3rd player

For LTS, U7, 18+ or OPEN players, there is no fundraising fee.

3] Please make cheque payable to the Guelph Ringette Lottery Trust and mail to:

Guelph Ringette Association, P.O Box 21013 RPO Campus Guelph, ON N1G 4T3

Reminders:

- registration is not considered complete until the fundraising deposit cheque has been received by the Registrar - it is also at this point that the participant can step on the ice.

Tournament Responsibilities

The GRA traditionally hosts their tournament each season early February. Tournaments remain an exciting part of the sport where teammates can bond, friendships are formed and players can watch the tremendous skill of elite level Ringette in our home community. It is a fun and inspiring weekend for many.

Like typical sports associations, the GRA is a non-profit organization dependent upon volunteer support. To deliver a successful event, we call on all of our families to assist at this tournament and with the exception of Learn-to-Skate members and U7, participation is mandatory, with the exception of those playing Open, or 18+.

Volunteer time will be solicited from each family in January for the following duties:

-Shot Clock Operators, Time Keepers;

-Home Team Scorekeepers;

-Registration Desk, Raffle Table and 50/50 Draws

-Bunnyfest support (U7 and U8).
